Hello, I believe I have a very strong build for a computer, but the video games I play only runs 2 to 3 FPS. It's also set up properly, but I can't play games very well. Any suggestion?
Hello, I believe I have a very strong build for a computer, but the video games I play only runs 2 to 3 FPS. It's also set up properly, but I can't play games very well. Any suggestion?
First off,
CPU AMD 880k
Motherboard MSI A68hm E33 grenade
RAM G. Skills 4gb 1333mhz
GPU MSI Gaming X 1050 ti
OS Windows 10 64 Bit
SanDisk 120GB of storage
EDIT: I am also playing at 1600x900 resolution and I mainly play games FEAR 3 and Dark Souls 3
I can't even update to the latest drivers of nvidia, not to mention I even tried every single one. Nothing turned out well, so nothing is good at the moment.
are you downloading them for the correct operating system?
If this is a fresh install of windows 10, you need to go to amd's website and download the chipset drivers. They may be rolled in with the APU driver set, even if you dont have an iGPU. Install them.
Then, head over to google, find DDU, display driver uninstaller.
dont run it yet. Go to nvidia, download the latest windows 10 64 bit drivers.
Run the DDU exe. it will ask you to reboot into safemode. DO SO.
uninstall everything using its menus when it pops up, and while still in safe mode, install the nvidia stuff.
Then when you think everything is working, go find 1866 or 2133MHz DDR3 ram. that 1333mhz ram is limiting performance.
If you can't even install any NVidia drivers sounds like you may be using the integrated motherboard gpu? Make sure your monitor is plugged into the graphics card and not the motherboard video connectors.
You did not answer the question which was is the monitor hooked up to the onboard GPU or the GTX 1050 Ti?
If its hooked up to the onboard GPU thats your problem
For what its worth, your computer is actually very weak. 1-3 FPS isn't right, should be more like 20-30, but you still shouldn't expect much given that hardware.

The 880K doesn't have integrated Graphics, so you are fine.
RAM wise you need to replace it. 4GB of Slow Memory. 4GB was fine for XP era video games, you are much better off getting 8gb of 2133mhz RAM. Even if you do get the Nvidia drivers working, the Frame Drops caused by the lack of RAM are going to drive you crazy.
You need Nvidia Drivers to play games, windows Drivers are not going to cut it. Force install the Driver if you must, Device manager and select the driver yourself. It will be in the folder you extracted the Nvidia drivers.
There really shouldn't be any reason why the nvidia graphics driver does not install itself, you got this video card from a valid place of business?
You PC is Decent, but I wouldn't call it powerful. The CPU is apart of AMD's old horrible lineup of very weak cores that nearly bankrupted the Company. If it was a Ryzen chip it would be different. But that CPU is still in the Phenom II level of performance, a series nearly a decade old.
I have a Lan Rig with a Ivy Bridge i5 and a GTX1050. It is a pretty solid setup. Overwatch/BF1/Fortnight/etc all play like butter @1080. The CPU is a good deal stronger than that AMD chip, but regardless you should be getting pretty decent performance. But that RAM will be a problem if you dont put 8gb's into your system.
Its connected to the 1050 TI GAMING X, I think it would help to mention its all smooth with windows 8, everything is perfectly fine. Fast sync was on, over 80 fps; only for Windows 8. I even want to add its around 100 with rocket league on my tv. My psu, EVGA 450 bv. I'm just upset that its just Windows 10 giving me a problem. I would love to mention crysis 2 was more than 80 fps just running. -only for windows 8

Should not be a hardware issue if windows 8 worked for you.
Seems you might be dealing with windows 10 shennanigans and how win10 deals with drivers.
Turn off the automatic driver updates. Go into device manager, and uninstall the nvidia card if it doesnt have a yellow triangle and
Reboot. Once back in windows, go back to device manager and see if win10 over-rode you again and did its own driver.
Microsoft went down a very stupid path when it comes to hardware with windows 10.
Likely this is a good starting point to figure this mess out.
Once you get it working, I will re-iterate, your ram is going to hold you back quite a bit.
Even when playing at low settings, 1080p resolution will want more than 4gigs in many scenarios. a temporary fix will be to reduce settings and play on 720p until you resovle this.
EDIT dont read that is VRAM, I am definitely not saying resolution is a direct comparison, but the game engines nowadays will not request as much system ram, as with lower resolution, comes the need for less memory caching, and believe it or not, the more VRAM being used, the more the game will request to be available form system ram "just in case". This is why many games that run out of available VRAM dont instantly crash, they merely get super slow and choppy until VRAM once again is available.
Even better, make sure you use TWO sticks of ram so you make use of dual channel memory. Todays games are more demanding of the hardware.
I can't provide screen shots, I only remembered the word "cannot" and "compatibility" with the nvidia display driver installation. I honestly had to return the motherboard, a lot of bad things were happening. Loud coil whines from the GPU, mousepad freaking out from the USB from the mobo that had been returned. Man everything bad was happening. To repspectfully conclude this, I already made the decision to return the damn thing. Thanks for your patience and your trial and error. It was best returned, man I feel so much relief and much better. Thanks
It sounds like a driver issue if you're getting 80fps in Win8. But if you can't install drivers on Win10, there's no much you can do. Unless you absolutely need to play DX12 games, maybe just stick with Win8? By the time most games becomes DX12 only, your PC will probably be outdated.
