I cant wait to try borderless window multi-gpu. This should affect a lot of games that don't have an exclusive fullscreen trigger. Now we can only hope negative scaling isn't an issue for some games lol. I wonder if this is really a feature AMD enabled or a by product of having another feature like the overlay to work. This was just a bonus?

Enhanced Sync on all GCN cards is amazing.

However, Overwatch bug is NOT fixed.
Netflix stutter is NOT fixed.

I agree.

Fast sync has been hugely beneficial on my NVIDIA parts. Looking forward to the same effect on my Fury.

This was a big issue for benchmarks like timespy.... Definitely cant wait to try this stuff out

Chill is such an underrated feature.. I've yet to notice an aim penalty, etc., in any of the games I've tried it in, while using less than half the power I'd usually be using. Whatever algorithms they use for dynamically adjusting framerate are more or less unnoticeable.

Wish they would step up their competitiveness in the high-end chip segment, I have no wish to go back to the NV control panel/GE..

wouldnt you prefer that they improve performance at least? if you get same poor performance as you got on Wolfenstein II release or in latest games where its matched by a 480...

Which is totally odd because Firestrike works with exclusive fullscreen too! I can't wait to test it also and see if we get any performance increases with Timespay, which was super annoyiny for those of us with multiple gpu's

I once had chill enabled with the default 40FPS wondering why i was getting crappy performance. Lo and behold it was a matter of increasing that fps target or disabling it entirely lol.

The overlay works well and you can set your frame rate cap and other options from it also.

Is profile saving in Wattman new or did I not see it before? Regardless, it's nice to have.

Really holding out for AMD in 2018....
I've been looking into an NCASE M1 build as i would like a SFF build that i could have on my desk rather than the floor. Naturally i would have already taken the plunge and just tossed my 7700k, 1080, and ram in with a new sfx psu and itx mb but unfortunately after doing the measurements its not that simple. My zotac amp extreme 1080 is 325mm whilst the ncase can only support a max of 317mm in the first slot, preferably no more than 300mm.

This would mean getting a new gpu and i don't really have the interest in going for a 1080 Ti as i just dont need that extra power nor do i want to spend the extra money and also Pascal is nearly EOL with Ampere expected in Q2 2018 and im more than comfortable sitting on a 1080 until then.

That said i was looking at Vega 56 as an alternative that would let me jump on the new build now. Flashing a V56 to V64 bios lets you get the card near 1080 levels. Higher overclock on core and memory + undervolting lets you get very respectable TDP and performance. If i could find a reference Vega 56 for $399 i would do it now, but yeah can't find any of those around.

It's pretty garbo.

It's just a variable target framerate. Ideally, you want to maintain an FPS equal to refresh rate and nothing more or less.

There's no need for variability. I wouldn't be surprised if it used more power than just setting a target framerate. I remember it shooting up to 300fps and then back down to 60 over and over and over. Maybe it's changed.

More performance is always nice, but I'm not realistically expecting them to focus on performance for Fiji or older parts, and there is a limit on what's technically possible.

Check the video in post #9 (minute 14) it seams to work quite well.

Its old but here is a reference post from this old thread

http://www.overclock.net/t/1605899/various-futuremark-releases-3dmark-time-spy-directx-12-benchmark/400_100#post_25355886

This post i did to confirm and at the time of posting i made top 10 hof and the gap in performance cost me like 4 spots in top scores.

I guess it still wont work right per se but id like to revisit this test again sometime in the future with vega

AMD / RTG already exhausted all their ammo on Vega a few months back, so they won't have anything substantially new (except perhaps rebrands) on the high end until 2019. Even then, it'll probably be well behind GV102 just like how Vega was blown out of water by GP102 (and barely approaches GP104).

I was also having the same problem with OW, but after reinstalling Win10 and installing 17.11.4, I didn't have a problem anymore or with this driver. I'm still not convince that it is fixed. I will see if it is fixed for my roommate too.
