It requires hardware acceleration, so it should be working as intended.

After few BSOD's due to overall system isntabillity, changing between Compute and Graphics does nothing. Then the patcher stops working, due to the driver changes, and all cards get stopped by the Windows.

it's interesting anyone is not talking about gaming performance, and onyl about compute mode, the same has ruined the availability and pricing of the card, AMD on purpose to benefit temporarily from some sales to some few users. would like to risk a big percent of their marketshare rolleyes.gif

Should it continue to have GPU load even after the browser is shut off? From what I hear the only way to revert back to idle is to sign off Windows.

So strange. I’m not having down clocking issues. I’m idle at 300 MHz on my Fury.

AMD Link snap shot currently

Odd too, as your device is saved in Crimson. I though there would be an "on" toggle.

The next time you open the app, skip the welcome page, go to settings and select your computer from the list. not sure why that list isnt available on startup

Thanks for the info

I gotta say, I like the idea of using AMD Link instead of using the OSD. I gain a portion of my screen back.

I got a message from a fellow Overclocker on the site (MixedC) who suggested that the problem could stem from Youtube playing VP8 or 9 video on Firefox. I followed his instructions and tested out Firefox with extension called 'x264ify' that forced the browser to play only h264 video. And I have not experienced any issues with the gpu load since. I searched a bit more and found that this problem was a known issue all the way back to Tahiti days.

Been doing some cleanup in system and I went through removal of old drivers.

Among Legacy drivers i found AODDriver 4.3 , which is apparently better known as ATI/AMD Overdrive or AMD Fuel service. Directory is dated August 2015. Is this even still active in current versions of AMD drivers (17.12 atm) where it was replaced by Wattman.

Even when AMD Fuel service is no longer present in system, this legacy driver is still present and active. Could somebody please check in legacy drivers if its there?

Take some time, disabled and then removed this legacy driver, no negative impact so far.

AMD Overdrive is for CPU overclocking mostly. It doesn't have anything to to with the video driver.

Way back it was GPU overclocking as well. Before Wattman.
