That's according to the Valve News Network, whose latest video examines CS:GO's patches dating back to May 2016. Within, creator Tyler McVicker considers a number of references within each of the shooter's updates that haven't yet made it into the game-such as compound bows, bare-fisted combat, adrenaline shots, breach charges, sonar pulses and MK2 grenades, among a number of other as yet absent features consistent with the battle royale genre.
I'd imagine valve would need to tweak / overhaul the source engine to get the large map needed for the br format. PUBG facing some serious competition here, but i think it'll make for better br games overall. The question is when will valve actually acknowledge the games existence to the public?
Too damn late Valve!! Never got Source 2, pc hardware advanced almost a decade, still in crappy 10% gpu utilization for people with nice gpu's. Their Greed into skins turned into Lazy game development. Yes skins helped viewership and players but look at it now, it was short stint and the game is on a rapid downfall.
And their Anti Cheat was the worst crap ever and adding Overwatch to report was the stupidest idea, having their players catch cheaters instead of spending some money and development into a better Anti Cheat system. And that led to alot of innocent accounts getting false bans and actual cheaters never getting banned. Just a whole damn mess with Valve, JESUS VALVE!!!
Sorry for the disgruntled rant sometimes a former csgo player needs to vent

This sounds weird though, i'm already finding some of the new map refreshes to not be as good as the old ones, seems like the game is changin a lot. These kind of things would completely change the dynamics of cs, could be interesting, might be terrible :S
This, I never could get into CS games because of no aim down the sight, without that it will be same old spray and pray / hip fire feeling.
IF this new mode would have ADS, and no third person view and the game play ruining aspect related with it then I might be interested.
How about giving us a 15 round, unranked 5v5 mode with matchmaking? Something people have been asking for for years. Seriously I enjoy CSGO, but I don't want to be locked in to games for 30mins+ at a time.
^ it was certainly developed by Hidden Path, Valve cut them loose shortly after launch...it's very much a Valve title.

This mode is nothing new. Last Man Standing was huge in 1.6. We had IRC channels for it and everything. IIRC we won prizes too. It was super fun. ESEA even had it for a season or two.
Honestly a lot of these game modes were on custom servers for different games back in the day. Call it a different name, there was a mod out for it 10 years ago.
What's really dumb, is people are bashing in this thread and probably don't know there's been mods out like this since CS 1.3 soooo...... Say what you want, all that's happening now with game "modes" is that AAA titles are now using said mods as game modes. Your going to see probably every big mod in the past 15 years resurface as new "modes" that are exciting and fun.

What do you mean? Rockstar/Take-Two have virtually all the mechanics they need for BR. Plane for everyone to jump out of, parachutes, vehicles, weapons, armor, map assets, etc. All they really need are weapon attachments, maps suited for BR, a way to constrict players, and the ability to enter buildings without loading. They could have easily taken the wind out of PUBG's sails if they'd brought out a game early on. A mature engine with super polished physics and a built in player base.
