hey guys I recently purchased a questyle cma400i headphone amp/dac and i'm having problems getting exclusive mode to work in windows no matter what i do, i.e the windows volume control is never bypassed no matter the application. I have all enhancements disabled and exclusive mode options checked and it still doesn't bypass the volume control, also tried both asio and wasapi drivers and there's no difference only way can get it to work is to set disable the volume in JRiver but that does not help other apps like spotify or vlc. I am trying to get bit perfect audio to my dac, and by my understanding if the windows volume control still works then this isn't happening. I have a peachtree nova150 and it operates in exclusive mode all the time with the settings above no matter if its JRiver, spotify, vlc, or even videos through an internet browser. I'm not sure if i missed a setting somewhere or its a hardware issue any help is appreciated. Windows 10 is the OS
thanks for the reply, I know setting the volume to 100% bypasses the mixer. However its too easy for it to get lowered slightly without me noticing and would like it bypassed like when using the peachtree which uses a wasapi driver. Also I thought when in exclusive mode wasapi was supposed to bypass the mixer? Also could the peachtree be using a kernal streaming driver without me knowing? I'm pretty sure its wasapi though as I have never installed any additional drivers for it. Sorry if that is confusing appreciate the help.
