I cannot hit past 220 x 9 in bios,it either doesnt post or bluescreens. SPT or SPD ... is set on 2.0 and i tried upping vcore 2 or 3 increments from stock and it still didnt do what i wanted.
what should i do? pump up the vcore? tweak something else?
I am not all that acquainted with the gigabyte s3, but I'm sure it has the same bios options as other 965 boards... but have you locked the PCI-E frequency @ ~100 mhz? Have you disabled any of the bios options, like TM2(themal monitoring) C1E(Enhanced halt state) or EIST(Ehanced intel speedstep)? Also relax your memory divider/multiplier make sure your not OC'n your ram, I only suggest this so as to limit your variables.
There is no way you are hitting any kind of wall @ 220 fsb. If you haven't tried any or all of the things I suggested give them a go.
Anyway GL . and keep us updated.
