Things you need before overclocking...
1)Understand the basic concept of overclocking. (ex:FSB x Multiplyer= CPU clock speed)
2)Sp2004 or Orthos. Pick any of the two, download it and run it for a good few hours after you've overclocked. It stresses your CPU to 100% to test for stability. (You may have to open two and run them at he same time, with one set to stress core1, and other to core 2.)
3)CPU-Z, Tells you a butt load of info on your CPU and ram.
4)Speedfan to monitor temps while under load.
People will tell you different thing, but the max I'd go for 24/7 usage is 1.55V. Nothing higher than that, and keep load temps as low as possible, if it's more than 55~C, you need to back off on the volts which may result in a lower clock speed.
