Building a friend a computer budget under 2k.

I've been putting some builds together but I always go over when I pick a monitor.

The computer will be used for game development and 3d apps like maya. So basically it's a gaming machine. He's not going to overclock it at all so that should narrow some choices a bit. Could I get some help here?

kinda a 'big' budget..you could trim the fat by changing to a e6450 and a DS3...thats a good 150$ right there in savings. Beyond that, if your not oc'ing, go for some cheap ddr2 667...oh yeah..dont forget the PSU.

If your looking for a steal..its already got Vista..but its an e4300, w/ 1g of ddr2 533. See Here for more info

I'm not use to having huge budget like that. When I was building I basically just dumped money into it... I guess that's all you need to do lol. His real budget was 2.5k but I figured that it would be a waste of cash to go that high. A lot of the things on my build were the same as chozarts suggestions but he kept it a little cheaper then what I originally had it with a different mobo and ram. Thanks guys, I sent him the list and should be building by the weeks end.

If he really has $2,500... he should look for a 24" monitor. They go around $600.
