The amount of CPU usage background processes use has been vastly exaggerated. It's usually 3%, not 30%. So, shifting that onto a 2nd core isn't going to give you much benefit.

Yes, but I notice both cores jump when I log into a server and while I am playing games, not just the one core, and they jump equal to eachother the first core at 50-60% and the second core at 15-30% but they mimic eachother just like a graphic eq, the bass hits louder, but the highs also jump with volume.

that could be part of the balancing for whatever reason. it does the same thing with superpi or any single threaded application. both cores more or less mimic each other
so like when running superpi on my comptuer for instance it uses half the cpu power on one core and half the cpu of the other core. not sure what it does it that way but for some reason it does. |
