Counter Strike Source FPS Config!

Thread Starter

Try this config in order to get better FPS! Aimed to those with low-end graphics cards to mid-end!

You might ask: How do I execute it?

First, go to the directory where you have Steam installed and access to your Counter-Strike Source Folder and then your config folder:

Copy the file attached here to that folder.

Then Right Click the file named "config.cfg" and Open it with Wordpad.

Copy this into the last lines of the file:

Quote:
exec cssfps.cfg
echo "CSS FPS Config Executed!"
echo "overclock.net ~ The Pursuit of Performance!"
So it would look like this:

Save it and then run your Counter-Strike Source!

Now open up your Console by pressing the "~" key on your keyboard. If it doesn't work go to Options > Keyboard > Advanced > Enable Developer Console.

Then once the console is opened, type in "net_graph 3" and you will see your FPS.

Questions? Don't be afraid to ask!

Yeah I already get 233FPS on the stress test with max in game settings. You should describe what kind of person would want to run this.

It actually optimizes the game graphics along with the ingame sound. Sound gives you less FPS too.

No it doesn't optimize anything. It reduces the quality of the textures and world to yield higher FPS. Sound doesn't affect FPS in source to a point where you'd want to tinker with it. Losing sound for a few FPS isn't worth it because sound is pretty much the most important thing in the game.

Agreed I use the sound alot to pinpoint a player. I would sacrifice a few FPS for that..then again I have rather a few FPS i can sacrifice lol.
