Don't suppose anyone in the team here wants my old 4790k? Willing to go cheap if you promise it will be abused, she deserves it.

have you tried it on cold, how was it on air or water. Would probably be interested for some of the ddr3 comps

sorry i missed this!

bought off jeronbernal on the marketplace here, he binned it himself for personal use. lapped and delidded, 5ghz 1.392v aida64 and realbench stable, or 4.7 at 1.23v for the same. i never took it above 4.8 apart from benching due to temps on my nhd14.

Edit; on an unrelated note, can anyone tell me if ssd speed has any impact on benchmarks? got a 512gb 950 pro nvme on the way as an os drive, not sure whether to install on that or just use my "storage drive" raid 0 mx300 750gb..

Got my 480 nice and cold with the sub-zero A/C water chiller I put together, didn't seem to help it clock higher though. Still tops out @ 1GHz. frown.gif Maybe I should delid the thing to get the temps down a little bit more.

Did my 780 Ti as well which helped a bit with clocks, idled at -9C and loaded at 11-12C was able to do GPUPI 1B @ 1380MHz w/ 1.212V (Would only do about 1280 w/ 1.212V on ambient water).

@DR4G00N That looks really nice! You should make a thread about how you converted the window AC unit to a water chiller, I would be interested to build one myself.

oh man, that looks like fun. My wife thinks my watercooled rig is overkill nevermind an AC waterchiller.

I would've but I don't have any pics of the build process and I never really did much to the ac unit anyway except for taking the metal casing off and bypassing the thermostat to make the compressor stay on all the time. So it would be a pretty boring thread haha. tongue.gif

It is very fun to mess around with and seeing hardware get frozen is always good. The only downside is the noise, it's quite loud, especially since I sit right next to it.

All it needs now is some proper insulation a better water pump and maybe a better cpu block (the one I'm using now is just a $15 Chinese made one so it struggles very hard with my hexa-core).

So I noticed that I dropped to #10 today and immediately thought NOX had passed me, but not yet. It seems we have a new player on the OCN team as of yesterday. He is bringing some serious points to OCN, not to mention he is ranked #1 in apprentice. Welcome to the team george.kokovinis!!!
