Where to get thermal tape or how else to attach a thermal probe?

I've got a Thermaltake Hardcano in my current rig and will be building a new machine soon. When I build my current machine I'd like to use it again. The Hardcano came with a bit of tape, which I assume is some fancy high-temp tape to attach the thermal probe to the underside of the CPU.

I've since tried upgrading my CPU (turned out to be DOA ) and removed the tape for the switch so now the thermal probe is just dangling loose since I didn't have any tape to re-attach the probe with so I'm not even really using it right now. But I'd like to use it with the new rig if possible.

Does anyone know where I can get some more of this tape? Is it really special tape at all? Is there a way to attach the thermal probe without using tape? Would it even be worthwhile to use on a dual core machine?

... I hope you did not use the thermal probe between your CPU and HSF. If so, I know why you CPU is DOA. Don't bother with the thermal probe. The CPU already has built in sensors.

No, I attached the thermal probe to the underside of the CPU. It came with tape (looked a lot like clear Scotch tape) but the instructions indicated that it was something special.

Anyway, it looked like this (found this pic via google - not a pic of my CPU). The wires on mine are actually hair thin and fit between the pins with no problem whatsoever.

Note that the CPU I had the thermal probe attached to still works great. The DOA CPU was a used, non-guaranteed CPU I bought off of eBay in hopes of upgrading - I rolled the dice and lost.
