will this pump, with a dd tdx waterblock and a heatercore rad cool my oc'd cpu better than my bt tt??

http://www.crazypc.com/products/9337.html

if so, how much better?

if not, what would i need to make it worth actually buying this stuff over just keeping my TT BT.

im asking cause in my other thread here i said my friend is paying me to build WC for him, so i got extra $ thought maybe i could WC mine too...

I'm not sure on that pump or how a heater core compares to in capacity to a pc rad, but I'd still guess that you would see much better temps.

If I was trying to reduce cost as much as possible I would go for something like this:

MCR655b - all the power of the well known mcr655, but at a reduced price because its not variable speed $69
http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/swmc12vdcpuw.html

Apogee GT CPU block $49 Good block for the price especially if bowed.

Heater core $20 or MCR320 $46 Good bang for the buck.

T-line for res $2

Tubing, Distilled water, Hydrx, Zip ties $15

Yate Loon fans $4 ea
http://www.petrastechshop.com/

So for around $160-190 you could have some good parts. If you want to spend a bit more, the D-tech fuzion for a water block, and depending on your space needs a better rad like the thermochill PA series or HW BI GTX series. As long as you have at least a double 120mm rad or heater core, you should see a really good gain and have extra capacity for cooling additions.

is the apogee gt better than TDX?

I think that's a household current pump though isn't it? I'd have to buy a relay to make that work or I'd forget to turn it one one day..

As far as the tdx vs apogee gt, I don't know for sure, but I have heard the apogee GT when bowed is really good, close to the gtx and D-teck fusion which is right at the top.

Either one would be good, my preference just goes to a 12v pump and one that is well known.

ok, say i got the MCP6xx

how much better do you think it would do than my TT BT right now? i get 30-36 idle, 54-57 load, about 61-62 throttle

would i get >10C drop? like still around 30 idle but maybe like 45 full load?

what size tubing do you have?

The MCP655 has 1/2inch tubing sizes.
I ran it with the 3/8ID from my thermaltake set back a while ago, then switched to 1/2inch ID.
Which gave me better temps.
What Tt set do you have?

Should be a big difference depending on the radiator, the fans, and if you have cold air intake across the rad. I don't have any experience myself, I have my WC system all setup and primed and waiting for a new PSU.

But from some of the threads I've read, some of these guys are getting less than 10C between idle and load and some are idling at or very near ambient. So probably even better than that, maybe 25C idle 35C load as a newb guess..

I don't know about the l25, but I will say that I really like the l45.

It may be a bit too much (paid for in heat dump). But it is a beast.

If you go A/C pump, I would just leave it on all the time. As I understand it, pumps live longer running 24/7 than being turned on/off frequently.
