Something just came to my mind..

Thinking about the differences between AM2 and C2D, there not many! Say you buy an AM2 build and you would also like to get a C2D build.. you could just get a C2D motherboard and the processor and you can use the parts from the AM2. You could also have 2 separate HDD so you wouldn't need to bother with driver installations and stuff. My point is.. if you have the money but you just can't decide which to get.. why not getting both? Like, follow these toughts? I know many of you have tought in this, I'd definitively do this if I could afford a C2D mobo/proccesor. Just sharing my thoughts!

I've actually been thinking about investing in a C2D rig myself, but I think I'll wait and see what's up when the AMD quads come out.. then make my decision on what I want to do as far as a new build..

It's just too much work for me... Moving all that stuff around would get annoying.

You could have a back-up case with a decent PSU in it. Just sharing the same RAM and Video Card.. It could save a lot of money.

Yeah but what's the point? I would just want them both running and buy another video card and ram... But if you had some need to have both it would work out well enough I guess.
