Cooling the E6300?

Thread Starter
idling 46-47c. So it basically goes up to 62+ when 100% used. I'm using Factory heatskink and fan.
My Case:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811156062

PCAlert3 Only shows temp from one core. (#1) and its correct, so i'm assuming
the system temp its showing me is correct. 33c. Right now running a crappy game and these few utilitys core#0 is 57c and core#1 is 53c.
I have air cooling.
1 x 80mm blue LED on the side, 2 x 80mm(rear and side) side has the slot for the fan but didn't come with it..
1 x 120mm front intake fan
i think all of them are blowing air out of the case.
Any suggestions?

Put a 40mm fan on the NB of your motherboard. Often time, the heat from the NB rises up to heat-up the bottom of your cpu cooler...just adding to mix and making temps worse. When I did this to my mobo, I lost 4-6c off my cpu temps.

*Air outside the case is cooler....try blowing some in, with your two side fans.

NB = North Bridge...the little chip in the middle of your mobo, under your cpu....it gets hot too!

Have you tried, pulling air from the back of the case and blowing it forward? Sometimes a change of direction foes a lot of good for aircooled systems, as bringing the cool air in the back, puts it closer to the cpu. Try changing you fans around and leaving you cpu on a stress test. Come back an hour later and compare the temps to your original configuration.

Yes get a Scythe Ninja, AC 7 Freezer, Tuniq Tower, or similar tower cooler. those three are ones I've heard good stuff about. I personally use the AC Freezer but the others do as well or better.

What's your budget look like?

I didn't really want to to though the trouble of buying more stuff, though its a option. I have two side fans One blows more air so i switched it to blow into the case ( its blowing right on the Nb and cpu :s ) and the one that sucks is blowing into the case also. i think i'm going to switch the weaker one around to blow out sense the only fan blowing out is one on the back.
Still running that crappy game and Orthos for about 10min and the cpu temps under full load 57-59. Good start.

The stock cooling solution Intel provides with the Core 2 Duos is horrible at best. For $25 you can get a AC 7 Freezer, one of the simplest and most effective coolers out right now, it snaps right in like the stock cooler and you're ready to go. It's also very quiet.
