New setup I just ordered!

Thread Starter
While my Thermaltake V1 is very very good at the air cooling. I want more. I'm a power hungry SOB whether it by my Spyder GS-T or my computer. So I am taking the dive (look another lame pun!!) into water cooling. Here is what should be coming shortly:

http://www.dangerden.com/store/produ...&cat=27&page=1 Resrvoir
http://sidewindercomputers.com/swapgtxexpeb.html CPU block
http://sidewindercomputers.com/swmc12vdcpu.html Pump
http://sidewindercomputers.com/ty3id1ulsovi.html Tubing
http://sidewindercomputers.com/brmihocl7int1.html Clamps
http://www.dangerden.com/store/produ...&cat=78&page=1 Fan
http://sidewindercomputers.com/hyexduco.html Coolant
http://sidewindercomputers.com/hwlablicegtb4.html Radiator
http://sidewindercomputers.com/blmico.html Fan shroud
http://sidewindercomputers.com/mciraho.html Radbox or radiator mount

Don't worry I grabbed the correct CPU adapter plate. I ordered 20 clamps (just in case) and 7 feet of tubing. I hope thats enough tubing. I only grabbed 1 fan and 1 shroud as I am afraid of fitment issues. If it works I'll get more. I figures as I'm only cooling the CPU, the large rad and 1 fan (again if it fits) should work. I'll be grabbing more fans before I start getting other cooling parts. So let me know what you guys think!!

Here are some questions. Should I just plug the fans into the mobo? I mean they are 3 and 4 pin so I could, but would it be better to get a fan controller? Also, does it matter that I can't adjust my pump speed? I mean it is adjustable, but Koolance, for example, has that bay mounted adjustable system or the software one? Maybe I'm trying too much but I just wanna make sure my endeavors go off best as possible. Thanks guys!

I would get 10ft of tubing... just in case. It sucks a LOT if you don't have enough and need to wait for more.

Plug the fan into a fan controller. You need three mobo headers to control all three fans.

That pump is variable speed. Even at full power, it is VERY quiet. You may want to check else where for cheaper prices.

Get the D-Tek FuZion instead... no need to bow the base for better performance as in the Apogee.

You should get more fans anyways. 1 fan means minimal cooling. I suggest high CFM fans too, like 100CFM+.

If you need a fan controller, pick up a Sunbeam Rheobus from www.Jab-Tech.com. 20w a channel is pretty freakin' sweat. Just make sure that you have 3pin mobo plugs for the fan controller.

Gotcha, like I said, though. I'll be grabbing more fans as soon as I'm sure these ones fit good. And don't worry, I've got 4 empty 3-pin connectors on the mobo just waiting.

Yeah... but they are likely to be spread over the mobo? Would the fan cable all reach? Wire management might be simplified with an controller.

As far as fans go, I bought six of these for my two triple rads with the intention they would be placeholders. But after getting them installed, I'm more impressed than some 10-15 dollar fans I have.

OK then. It looks like that if all goes well and the fan works fits and works good, I'll get 2 more and a fan controller as well. Hopefully the shroud will work too.

Another question, though, do you guys use something to check for water temps?

Nothing, you don't need to check water temperature as it dies not vary immensely... a few degrees. If you water was getting hot, you would notice it with your CPU sensor.
