Why do you want to go through with the headache of removing the paint..Just sand it down and then paint over it. Easy.

I got it!

Castrol Super Clean is what I was trying to remember. I used that stuff a lot when I used to build scale model cars. It's safe even for plastic, and needless to say it will work on metal as well. I know it works on even super-hard automotive grade lacquer and acrylic paints from experience.

Here's a link testifying to its capabilities.

It's also much cheaper than brake fluid for the volume required to soak a PC chassis.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

It's the inside of the case I said, not the outside of the case that I need to take the paint off but thanks anyway

sandblast.

get an air compressor, a soda bottle and a small length of metal pipe and SAND!

nice fine grained beach sand works well, especially cuz of the salt content.

sandblast ftw. cleanup is a broom and dustpan.
