Floating, Transparent Apps on Desktop

Thread Starter
How do I get those cool, custom apps that seem to be transparent and float on the desktop to report things like CPU Temp, GPU temp, CPU utilization, the weather, etc?

I actually found something called Samurize. Would people recommend that as a good program? It seems there is a learning curve, but doesn't look as gimmicky as Yahoo Widgets (IMHO).
