Not Booting!!!1

Thread Starter
well, my ignorance made my machine die. I was messing with memory timings one at a time, and then I set a row cycle time, and the machine wouldn't boot. I reset cmos, by taking out the battery, now it boots, but only gets to the biostar logo screen, what should I do next? take out a stick of ram?

Thanks!

Take out a stick of RAM and start from there.

I would. Try any possible method you can think of. Is your CPU power cord in your motherboard? Um.. trying leaving the battery out for 10 mins or so.

Make sure to switch RAM if one stick doesn't work, try the other.

Ok I got it to boot, I guess taking a stick of ram out helped, I set up the bios, without any overclocking, and I'm now in windows! Am I good to put that other stick of ram back in?

yeah I was kind of freaking out, my parents aren't home but they will be soon, so I want to get this all back together before they get home.

Yeah, add the other stick in. If it doesn't boot with it, I think it's dead. @_@

If the stick that doesn't boot work, try different RAM slots.

If ever you want to play with RAM timings, make sure you read and understand (at least at a fundamental level) this. It may be one of the most helpful documents on the road to knowledge.

Mind you, the material is based on DDR, but the same ideas apply to DDR2.

Hope that helps!
