Brisbane temps?

Thread Starter
My motherboard displays temps between 70 and 90 degree C in the bios, however in speedfan it shows around 35 idle, and 61 load in orthos, which should I trust? I felt the cpu heatsink, and it didn't feel terribly hot, like it didn't burn my fingers or anything, but it was warm, so I'm not believing what my motherboard says in the bios for now. Are there any other programs that will give me an accurate temp reading?

I'm on stock cooling, 2.55ghz, 1.375v.

Touching the cpu while at 75-90c is definately gonna burn if u keep your hand there long enough , the temps reported from orthos sound a bit more accurate though id check to see if your hsf is properly mounted to the motherboard or else the heatsink could be making poor contact just letting the cpu get nice and toasty and not cooling properly

If the heatsink was making poor contact, it would barely be warm. Turn off/ unplug your heatsink fan for a few minutes and see what happens. It is very warm /hot, then it is making contact.

maybe bios update?

that board has been on the market before brisbane.

i bet an update would allow the board to read the correct temps.

if it is not the bios, then reseat the heatsink and stuff

yeah sorry if I worded that weird, the heatsink is hot, but not hot enough to burn my fingers.
