Gigabyte DS3 EXTREMELY slow HDD Speeds.

Thread Starter
Ok, i just swapped out my P5W for a DS3 since my P5W kinda crapped up. But after doing so, my HDD speeds went WAYYY down hill. I use to get like 80-90mb/s with my WD 36.7GB Raptor. But on my DS3, I only get 51mb/s avg. However the speed jumps a LOT (See attached image). It gets as low as 3.2MB/s and only a max of 62.7MB/s. Also, I have noticed a huge difference when copying files and transferring files between HDDs. They are insanely slow. And just FYI in case it matters, all 4 of my HDDs are plugged into the orange ICH8 ports. I've tried the purple Jmicron ports, but windows fails to boot up.

This board belonged to be bro b4, whom had the same issues as I ever since he got it.

should I just give up on this board and get a P5B Deluxe?

I do not have a problem. As long as you install the sata drivers should be fine and be on the latest Bios.
