Can I overclock my system?

Thread Starter
Hey guys, I have an Intel P4 3.0GHz and want to know if I can overclock my system. I'm not positive of the make/model of my motherboard but i'm sure I can find out. When I enter my bios it doesn't allow me to raise the speed of any of my components. Where can I go/look/download to find out if my system is overclockable?? Thanks a ton guys.

Do you have a branded system? HP, Dell, gateway....?

EDIT: Or it could be that your motherboard doesn't support overclocking.

please fill in your system specs in your user CP so we can help you better. We need to know what hardware you have. (IE-motherboard, memory, etc...) If you have no OCing options in your bios then you will have to go with a software OC like clockgen or similar. This is not as preferrable as using your bios, but it will none the less offer you the option to OC a bit.
