Spare case Watercooling chamber - need decent cheap WC setup.

Entire water cooling setup inside an old Sony VAIO case, for my sig rig.
I would also like to place my hard drives/opticals in that case as well.
I will be painting it to match the 900, and will find some ways to spruce it up (OCN logos etc)

Well, basically, I posted in the WANTED area asking for anyone with excess parts to toss em my way, cheap. I soon got a PM Warning saying it was considered begging. DOH!

SO! Apparently asking for cheap stuff that's in your closet not being used, and asking to not be overcharged for it, is begging

Now I know cheap WC is not as good as pricy air cooling.
So I am going to need:
  • CPU Block
  • NB Block
  • Pump
  • Radiator
  • Resevoir
  • Fan(s)
  • Everything to tie it all together and get pumping.
If you couldn't tell- this will be my first WC setup.

I need help finding cheap parts, maybe even used parts.
Is there a WC refurb site?
I will be lapping the block - so should a lapped "cheapy" block do better than my Freezer 7 Pro?

I was looking @ Swiftechs website ... saw this:
The H20-120 "Premium" CPU Liquid Cooling kit The H20-120 "Premium" CPU Liquid Cooling kit

$200. I really want to go cheaper than this. Less on WC kit = more for my e6320.

Should I try getting seperate parts via ebay?

*EDIT*
Doing some research... looks like it's kind of pointless?
I am getting 34C Idle temps with my current chip, which runs a lot hotter than the C2D I want.
Watercooling looks like so much fun... but I guess in my case (pun intended) I don't need it.
Saw an X2 with a swiftech system while researching and he said he loves being @ 31C idle.
31C idle, is that a normal WC temp? If it is... I guess I'll stick with air and invest in better NB/SB cooling and a C2D.

I'm pretty sure the C2Ds run a good bit cooler than those X2, overclocked especially. WC is good stuff especially if you are really pushing your system. I bought the Swiftech Premium System from newegg for 149.00 and I really like it.

I also purchased 2 chipset coolers for the nb and sb. I don't remember if it was you in the thread i was posting my pics in or not. GL either way you go.

Yeah that was me.
But what temps are you getting with that kit?
That's actually the one I was looking at...

Not bad for a E6300 clocked that high and cooling a hot nb and sb. Just my opinion though. I think I am going to get another rad to add into the system.

That Swifty kit is on sale here...They are easy to upgrade...Idle temp's don't mean anything you want to look at load temp's and what the room ambient is also...

REP+ Ira, for the link because the newegg one is the older version with the white res, so ugly lol.
Load temps I am getting 47C ~ 70F and 53C ~ 78F
Would that water kit do much better than that?

With just a single 120mm rad it might not..A double or triple rad it should..The pump that comes with the kit will handle a larger rad easy...Its hard to guess what kind of temp's anyone will get...It depends on ambient and V-Core and a lot of things...WC will get you closer to ambient then air...Its a lot more upkeep though...

Well something like that would get you started then you can add a rad to it later...Like me I run 7-9C above room ambient on a 3019mhz OC with 1.55 V-Core...But I have quite a bit of money in my rig...And thats on a cool running Opty....

Yeah... thanks for the advice I really think I am just going to stick with air.
I could even drop a TT120 and a real good fan in for a lot less and get even better temps.
