you're right. By the time R650 comes out w/ 65nm. Nvidia will have 8900 or 8950 w/ 65nm also

I think a die shrink will improve matters greatly, and I also think we will be seeing 256+ programmable 'shader units' or 'stream processors' in the near future.

i think that we need multi GPU video cards.. like i know we have the hundreds of shader units.. but those arnt separate cores.. i think it would be better for it to be in one die, but i think a multi die video card would be a lot better then simply raising the clocks.. like Athlon vs P(iece of crap)4

EDIT: forgot the HOLY **** 50,000 3D MARKS!?!? zomg hax

that would be interesting to see............dual core quad SLI or XF cards
This is where people need to understand a little more, essentially, it's a multi core GPU. Each Pixel pipeline is a Shader CPU.

Like they said in the article, it does 470GF vs 50GF of a quad core CPU

This is why the Cell does so great, it was supposed to handle all the video and CPU stuff, but the core architecture was crap for video rendering so they stuck a 7800gt on it.

Multi-GPU cards are out and I'm positive they'll have a multi-core HD2900XT by years end. But sometimes this creates latency and other issues (load balancing/heat Among other things) and hence why they are not to popular.

XFX I think made a dual 6600GT and someone else made a crossfire on one card X1950XTX or XT

but daum that's a hot 2900XT!

Sapphire made the dual 1950Pro card. I suspect that they intend to do it again, and probably in the 2950 generation.

that looks like totalk bs to me....liguid nitrogen is way below -200C.....thats has to be a joke.....its more of a problem in the card itself not being stable any higher......i cant believe that; that article isnt believeable....one of the coldest substances in the world ever..cant cool a card??!! *** is that...its the 80nm and the cards capabilities ie. ram,gpu structure, and the technology cant handle it... Nitrogen cant cool....u trippin'
