wierd HDD problem wheni used disk defragmenter

Thread Starter
so yah i have a fairly new HDD and i do disk defrag about one a month but this time then i did it it said that it could not finish defrag and that some files could not be like completed so i followed the thing to "C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\wbem\\Logs\\wbemess.lo g" and so i looksd at the file and it shows this:

(Tue May 15 23:37:57 2007.1141500) : Dropping event destined for event consumer NTEventLogEventConsumer="SCM Event Log Consumer" in namespace //./root/subscription
(Tue May 15 23:37:57 2007.1141500) : Failed to deliver an event to event consumer NTEventLogEventConsumer="SCM Event Log Consumer" with error code 0x80041001. Dropping event.

it said that over and over
is that bad? i was sorta like freaking out when it said this

Microsoft lists that error code as a "Generic failure", so I guess that means it's a poor knock-off of their trademark Microsoft failures.

I'm not sure why it'd do something like that. You haven't had any NTFS journal errors on bootup have you?

If your drive came with utilities to scan for bad sectors, I'd back up anything important you may have on it, and scan it.

Some hard drives get a few bad sectors in the first few months of use. It's normal.
