Asus PN32-E SLI need Chipset fans?

Thread Starter
Now iv water cooled my CPU my PC is unstable at even 3ghz on a e6600.
My pc is double as noisy as it was because im having to run too many fans.

I need a very quiet set of fans than will keep the NB, SB cooler, I dont want to replace the heat pipe but wants some kind of cooling for it.

My CPU is currently at 3ghz 33c idle 43c load, the motherboard shows 35c, how do i know what temps my north and southbridge chips are?

I have used all these products on ASUS P5N32-E SLI Plus and the P5N-E SLI.

Here is the Fanless Thermalright NB cooler. One is Offset for Large Coolers

Here is the Spirit II with Fan. It can offset for coolers
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835116018

This fits perfectly on the SB and runs quiet with fan

The thing is that you should be able to get at least a 3.2-3.4GHz overclock on that cpu with stock cooling on that board IMO. Have you read through our overclocking guide? Link
See if that helps.

The problem is im not using the stock cooler, or infact any air cooler on the cpu. It apears that this motherboard isnt good for water cooling.

I realy cant afford to get a chipset block for the mosfet and north and southbridge.

I did read the guide and it was very helpfull, but I need to get things cool before I go any further. at 3gz my pc is now unstable wihtout a air base cooler. The idear is that I have a very quiet pc with a moderate overclock.

I was hoping for 3.2ghz stable, cool and quiet.

I was thinking of using AS5 paste on the chipset and the other copper heat sinks? That sticker on the southbridge will that make any diference to the heat?

I am gtting throught some of the pages on that link but there are just too many to read.

I'm assuming you still have the heatpipes on the chipsets and mosfets, you might try using a spot cooling fan to get some air moving on those until you can get a more permanent solution

Here is an example of a 40mm fan screwed onto the top of the stock nb heatsink. Its better than nothing but aftermarket cooling is still the best choice.
