Hmm.... interesting to see that they're not making it with the extended column address range to fully utilize AMD's memory controller. I mean, of the people that run Crossfire, how many of them are not on AMD machines??? Also, since when did we need memory that is specifically certified for Crossfire, and then ones that are specifically certified for SLI? Is there even any difference?
OCZ DDR2 PC2-8500 Reaper HPC CrossFire
OCZ announced new DDR2 Crossfire certified memory modules. The new modules operate at 1,066 MHz with CL 5-5-5-15 latencies, and come as a 2GB (2x1024) dual channel kit. After the release of OCZ Reaper PC2-8500 HPC, which we reviewed and managed to push to 1,200MHz here, OCZ decided to go for the Crossfire market.
The new modules work at 2.3 Volts and can handle voltage up to 2.35V without loosing its Lifetime Warranty. They are cooled by OCZ's Reaper HPC (Heat Pipe Conduit) with AMD's "Crossfire Certified" emblem on it.
