F5 is the latest...even tho it only says 6x20 support, i would install it just to be sure..

if your speed resets back to default when you reboot, that usually means your clock speed was too high, or vcore too low....in some cases this can also happen if your PCIe is set to "auto"...PCIe should be set to 100Mhz instead...

try and raise your fsb to 210, and see if that posts or resets to "auto" again..

i think you can dl f5 from gigbyte and save it to desktop then intsall it from there...but idk for sure...ntl f4 should do you fine..

is your bios clock still changing back to stock? even with a small increase like 210fsb?

are you still running slow even at stock settings?

below 500mhz? is cpuz or windows detecting you at 1.8ghz?

when you are posting does it say anything like (50Mhz x9) or anything like that?

some of the older games read it wrong and give that message, don't worry you'll be fine, a few games have done that to me.idk much about the 945 chipset but i would think you could get higher than a 211 fsb on it without raising vcore.

hey there
I'm running same board and chip - bios v F10
2.9ghz stable overclock
Arctic freezer 7 pro - pre-applied thermal paste
35 degree idle
52 othos load
56 TAT load
Ambient was at about 28 degrees

vcore about 1.35
ram 1:1
have you added =0.1 to your FSB voltage? I found that really helped stability.

if you want I will post exact settings when i get home from work

good enough.

mines been creeping up towards 50C idle due to some warmer weather recently with a 1GHz overclock but in reality, for a stock cooler, thats not bad.

plus the hardest workout i give my CPU is a game of day of defeat source or CS source. at which point it goes to about 52C
