Fan controller help!!!! - Page 2

It came with instructions but very basic ones... so your saying the sensor goes on the side of heat sink??? (it does tell you in BIOS but the fan controller i got has temp sensor and it displays the temp on the lcd screen) Check it out...

I didnt know if it got it's info from the bios. . not 100% positive how mobos work at that level

Unfortunately, those use a temp probe which has to physically touch something to get the reading. The only way to get it to show the CPU temp with any kind of accuracy would be to put it between the CPU and heatsink which is a really BAD thing to do as heat will not longer transfer efficiently from CPU to heatsink.

Best thing to use it for imo would be to monitor the temp inside the case

Just stick it between the fins of your HSF. Sticking it between the HS and CPU would be a REALLY bad idea, like gonX said.

EDIT: Click on a forum from the main page and at the top of the new screen should be "New Thread".
