Thread Starter
Ok, Here is the deal every one. I just got another nine hundred from a friend of mine and you wondering why I got another one... Will he decided to use paint stripper on the whole case (Leaving it a complete mess) and trust me when I say mess I mean it... This case looks like it's been ruined, but I think not. I need to know what I would have to do to repair it?? Would I have to completely sand it down to straight metal or just sand it out with 600 so it would be smooth.

This case looks like it's been in a house fire, I'm going to go and take some pics of it so you can see it better.

Correct...
You DON'T want to paint over paint that has been attacked by stripper!
You can reapply stripper, put on rubber gloves and use fine steel wool to scrub down to the steel. Once it's all nice and clean and bare, then you can prime and paint

not really bad actually. i was expecting a rust bucket.

just go at it w/ some 60-120 grit sandpaper til u get bare metal and then u can make it a different color.

and you don't have to get to bare metal technically. you just want the surface smooth, but i'd use some primer and sand it smooth as well. a couple layers of primer, sand it from 120 and work up to like 800/1000 grit and you'd get a killer finish. and i wouldn't even worry too much about the mobo tray or most of the internals, you won't even see that in the end.

edit-----------------
lol Duke's right. i missed the stripper part, i just thought ur friend sanded it down from the pics. teaches me not to post before i read lmao

Lol your friend sure owned that case.

Seems to me you would need to sand off what ever the hell that is, and then go through the painting process. Seems to be the same procedure people go through at overclock.net to paint / repaint their cases.
