Yet another 'rate my build' thread!

Well, not so much rate as give me suggestions. This is my first time building a computer, and while I think I should be able to assemble enough intellect to cobble this technological wonder together, any tips/suggestions/demands are not so much appreciated as they are required.

In other words, BRING IT ON. Feel free to phrase these tips in any imaginative way you conjure up. Examples include: 'what the hell are you thinking, i wouldn't trust you to put 2 lego pieces together properly nevermind a comp', 'you sux lern2brain', or the always-humorous 'hahahahahahaaahahaha'.

In all seriousness though, I'd love it if you would tell me of any incompatibilites, bad decisions, or cost-prohibitve choices I have made. Gaming is the main purpose of this computer, fyi. Also please keep in my mind my original budget was $1500, and I am already about $200 over that, so I can't afford to spend much more, and ideally I would like to lower the cost if possible.

Without further adieu, the build:

Thanks in advance for your help!

Steer clear of the built in speakers (monitor). Apollo is **** case, go for something better, trust me, you'll thank yourself. Motherboard is great, can vouch for that, just flash the bios right away to avoid problems. Both RAM and Video, as well as hard drive are fine. Good call on the optical, and, soundcard, come on, save a little more, go h4rdc0re! Obviously you're gaming, so get summin good!

Amazing card for the price. For speakers, once again, sound can make or break a game.

Expensive as hell, but, it's Klipsch. Awesome stuff. Thats just what I'd do, but I'm a sound enthusiast.

EDIT: I noticed you're trying to not spend as much, thought you said you had extra cash. You could drop the processor to 6400, 250gb HDD, drop the OS, go linux, or my preferred method .

Thanks for the advice and suggestions. Yeah, I definitely skimped on the sound card, but I guess if I'm gonna spend the money I may as well spend it the right way.

This is true. I'm a sound fanatic tho, I'm one who'd drop to an 8600gt/s just to get a better sound card.

If you are not in a huge rush, I would wait until the Q6600 price cut, or go with the new 1333 FSB processors in Q3 2007
