Overclock 8800gts 320mb

Thread Starter
So its my first time overclocking a video card. I did the find max core and find max mem in atitool. I got 666mhz in the max core before my computer froze. I moved down by 1 till I got a stable 10 min without artifacts. I have some questions:
1. When scanning for artifacts at 660mhz I get delta XXXXXX for one second then it goes back to no errors found in XXXX time. Is delta an artifact?
2. When doind a find max mem at about 990mhz I start getting some yellow spots in the screen? Is that a sign to stop?
3. After finding max core and max mem do I set the core and memory for 2d, 3d low power, and 3d perf. all the same?

1. yes
2. yes
3. You should have the same clocks for 2d and 3d settings. I remember a few of my benchmark scores were worse when I had lower clocks for 2d.

You should be able to squeeze some more 3dmarks out of your video card. Just for reference, my max in 3dmark06 was 11805 @ 680 core / 2020 mem

Those are nice scores, I'm on 630/950 and I can only sqeeze 8900. My cpu is clocked from 2500 to 2750 aswell. Any ideas on how I can score 10K?

I'd say your cpu is the limiting factor in that. My gts speeds were similar to yours, but I needed my e6600 at something like 2700mhz to break 10k.

I break 11 with the e6600@3200mhz

Your CPU is just fine. You don't need a freakin C2D. Especially if your scoreing above 10K in 3DMark. You should be able to run just about anything you want to.

how are you breaking 11k when my speeds are similar than yours and I can just get to 10k?
