Bad Memory?

Thread Starter
Quick Question about bad memory. I've been having random restarts on my newly built compy. So, endeavoring to fix the problem, I've tried a number of things, and now I'm checking my RAM. I've got Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C4 2GB Kit DDR2-800 XMS2-6400 Xtreme Performance Memory, and I'm running Memtest-86 (version 3.3). I was curious as to how many errors are too many. As in, if there is 1 error the memory is bad and should be replaced or is having some errors commonplace?

Thanks...

if your memory is in good working order there should be no errors. usually if theres one there will be more.

1 error is enough to RMA it.

Have you oc'd the mem and are now getting errors? Initially, what I've done (please be advised that I am by far not an expert), is let the mobo set all (volts, timings, etc.) test the modules and begin oc from there. If you have even 1 error with all on auto, well....
