Put me together a DX10 Intel PC under $2,000

Ok so tomorrow is my big day, i might be getting 3k. If so i want to put 2k of it towards a high end DX10 rig. I would like a quad core but if you can only sqeeze in a high end dual core i guess that would do. The case i have in mind is this one feel free to post your own in suggestion.

Your goal is to put together (on newegg) a PC (+ HDCP Monitor) for me that costs around 2k and WILL run Crysis, Hellgate:London & Company of Heroes (with it's DX10 update) with good settings in DX10 mode, i'm not too crazy about resolutions so a 22" (1680 x 1050) with HDCP (so i can use my PS3 on it) is perfect for me.

Good luck and many thanks to helpers!

You really like that case? It looks like Optimus Prime after getting crushed with a trash compactor. No offense.

I do have to say, that is a really crappy case. You might consider (depending on how much stuff you want in it) the case I have, the Lian Li PC-7B Plus II. Really slick little case and comes side-windowed for 107$ from XPCgear.com

Another suggestion of mine is to pick up the Silverstone Olympia 650W PSU from www.deadeyedata.com. If you go to jonnyguru.com/forums, register, and go to the Hot Deals section, there's a link there that applies an 8% off deal automatically, so that gives you a great PSU for 130 shipped. Otherwise, get the Corsair 620W modular PSU. I don't know where the best price is, but a quick scan of froogle.google.com will probably show the way.

It seems that the disparity between my sense of style and your sense of style are too great for me to be helpful with the case selection. I personally think that other case you linked is runner up for world's crappiest looking case, right behind the first one you linked.

Yeah well if i spend over $1,000 on a PC i want side panel windows, LED's, light up fans, i want it all. I don't want a PC that looks like it just came from the IBM office.

throw on a 30 dollar disk drive and a 50 HSF and it should come to like 2100.

EDIT: if you want to keep it under 2000, I would say lose the stacker, thermaltake Armor is a good alt, but its like the best case there is, and maybe drop down to a PC P&C 610 silencer, instead of 750

I can see where you're coming from, but the difference to me is a suped up Honda Civic with ground effects vs a BMW. One is flashy, loud, obnoxious, and screams "look at me". The other has enough style to blaze right past the Civic.

If you want all the flashy goodies, maybe consider a Thermaltake Armor with a bunch of LED fans that you buy yourself. At least that way you get a case that's worth the shipping cost you paid for it, and you also get to customize it the way you want.
