Before you begin testing, there are a few points I want to convey about “Lost Planetâ€. “Lost Planet†is an Nvidia-sponsored title, and one that Nvidia has had a chance to look at and optimize their drivers for. The developer has not made us aware of this new benchmark, and as such the ATI Radeon driver team has not had the opportunity explore how the benchmark uses our hardware and optimize in a similar fashion. Over the next little while AMD will be looking at this, but in the meantime, please note that whatever performance you see will not be reflective of what gamers will experience in the final build of the game.

Hopefully it's just a driver issue. For those saying that it's best to wait for a DX10 benchmark to judge the card though, things aren't looking to bright and sunny. I should probably wait until AMD "optimize[s] in a similar fashion" to comment though.

Kinda sad. I thought personally that the HD 2900XT would gain a lot of ground in the DX10 benchies. If we assume that the 8800GTS 640mb is 25% slower than the GTX, that still means that the 8800GTS 640mb is whoopin' on the HD 2900XT right now.

Truth be told, nVidia sponsors a lot of games in order to try to get the upper hand, because they can't compete with ATI in DX9 for single GPU solutions. It looks like they got the head start in DX10 doing the same thing.
