Tentative WC Setup - Help/Opinions please

Hi folks,

I'm thinking about branching into water-cooling, but I'm a little new to to the idea and am unsure as to what I *actually* need to have to get a system up and running (apart from the basics).

I've got an initial plan, but I'd appreciate any advice or opinions. I'd like to be able to mount most of the system inside my case if possible, so any advice on doing that would also be appreciated.

Swiftech Apogee Extreme Performance Waterblock

Danger Den DD12V-D5 Pump

DangerDen Maze 4 Nvidia 680i Chipset Block
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=WC-025-DD

DangerDen 8800 GTX Block
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=WC-004-DD

Swiftech MCR320-QP Triple 120mm Radiator
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=WC-020-SW

DangerDen Single Bay Resevoir

Masterkleer 7/16" Tubing
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=WC-026-DD

So, would this be enough to get me up and running or am I missing any vitals? Also, if there are any alternatives that offer better performance, please feel free to suggest them.

Thanks in advance...

Looks good. Can't say much about the prices you have there.

I think you should go with a PA120.3 if you're going to be cooling CPU, NB and a GTX. (Or the 480GTX)
Not sure if the MCR320 can take all of that.

If your planning on cooling your PSU,GPU and chipset in one loop, i suggest a better radiator....the Thermochill PA.120.3 since your in the UK would be your best choice....or the HW Labs 480 GTX if you want to go bigger.

For your GPU,I would go with the EK blocks, i find them better looking and reviews say they out perform the DD blocks and are CHEAPER!!. And your in Europe, they are made in Slovakia if im not wrong....so might be way cheaper for you.

For your waterblock go with the D-Tek Fuzion, it beats the Apooge.

With the pump, you cant go wrong with the D5's, love those things.
Get some clamps of course.

And welcome to water cooling

EDIT: NEvolution stop that...haha

Great advice guys. Thanks.

Certainly makes things easier when you have people in the know giving you equipment choices. I'll certainly revise my decisions...

I'm expecting a bonus at the end of this month (hopefully), so I'll not be purchasing this setup for the next few weeks, but I wanted to get a clear picture of what I'll need.

So, this is my revised setup I decided to leave out the chipset block since I'm not sure it's really necessary.

D-Tek FuZion CPU Block > £39.99
EK 8800GTX GPU Block > £54.99
Thermochill PA120.3 Radiator > £57.56
Danger Den DD12V-D5 Pump> £51.69
DangerDen Single Bay Resevoir > £22.31
Tygon 3603 1/2" Tubing (x12 ft) > £23.88
16mm-19mm Hose Clamp (x12) > £5.04

Total £255.46

What sort of performance could I expect from something like that in comparison to a WC Kit of around the same price? Would I expect better or comparable temps?

Well it seems that the D-Tek FuZion and EK 8800GTX blocks are in short supply over here... but I've managed to find a site with both in stock, so I've ordered those in for fear of not being able to get them at a later date!

Now that I've got the ball rolling I'm going to start getting the other components in, so I'll update this post once I start work on the loop. I want to put everything inside my Stacker 830 and at first glance it looks like I should be able to do so... if not, I'll be back asking for more help

Thanks again for your help.
