Modding the Xclio A380

After searching it looks like not to many people have this case (part of its appeal to me) but I was curious of the people that do have it, have you modded it? I'd really like to better utilize the front fan, as the HD panel is blocking alot of its flow. I'm only going to have 2 HD's, would I be able to take out some of the HD cages to get lower restrictiveness? Obviously I'd take out the plastic parts case. I'll also be putting a 120 mm fan on the back as exhaust, and I was thinking about mounting another exhaust on the top rear area. (btw, I could use recommendations on high CFM, relatively low Db, with blue LED fans for this).
I was also thinking of "porting" out the insides of the side of the case where the 250mm fan blows back. in the pics you can see its currently all for aesthetics, it doesn't flow any actual air through it. It would be nice because then I could flow air around the HD bay. If you havn't become familiar with this case check it out here:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811103008

I'll be putting in a 8800 GTX (sli later maybe) and a e6600 or a quad core. (BTW, this case is actually manufactured by Scythe)

Edit: here is a view of what the backend of the front fan sees:

I'd like to take out all the restriction caused by the HD holders, as well as get some airflow around the sides:

That case looks alright actually. My suggestions would be to cut out the restrictive mesh behind the front fan, that alone would help with flow and do the same for the back.Put a good fan in the back.Does the side fan blow air in or out? My guess is in and if that is the case you need more fans for exhaust to get the best air flow.

Yup, thats basically what I'm planning on doing. The side fan blows in, directly on the mobo. I'll be putting a good 120 on the back, and may put another on the top for exhaust as well.

Another thing ,why not paint the inside of it while it's apart for modding and your porting idea sounds like it should work as long as it is hollow.Be sure to take pictures and post them as you go so our fine community can learn from your experiences as well.

I havn't painted anything like that in my life, I have no idea where to start. Is there some kind of special spraypaint people use?? Thanks for the idea, an all black interior would look pretty sweet...

Krylon is a good brand but there are many others I use Duplicolor myself mostly, it all comes down to who has the right color for my needs.

I have this case. The modding i did was painting the inside and back black, I used gloss black not sure what brand. I cut the plastic side cowl on the left side only and cut the steel on the same side in a similar shape. The front fan seems to put out the most air from the sides as opposed to the center so i'm not sure if cutting the drive cages would help. Also I added a 120mm thermaltake fan to the back of the case and another to the back of the drive cage ( this seemed to help a lot with hard drive temperature). Lastly I added blue tube lights into the side support rails under the power supply they fit pretty nice. I'll post better Pics when i get a chance with the lights on, and the side pannel mod.

Before

After Sorry for the bad lighting.

what HSF do you have on there, looks like it's a pretty tight fit. Do you have shot of how you opened up the cowl on the side? Looks pretty sweet!
