Hey everyone,

I own the P180 so my rig should be quiet and it mostly is, except for my graphics card cooler. Will the Accelero x2 quiet things down or am I wasting my money?

The Accelero X2, in my experience, cools better while being quiet. I originally bought one for my X1800XT and was so impressed with it that when I bought my X1950XT I bought another Accelero to go along with it.

Just make sure you have good air circulation as the VRMs on the video card tend to get quite hot. Also, the Accelero, unfortunately, blows the hot air onto your motherboard, subsequently heating up your northbridge if it is nearby. Again, good air circulation helps tremendously in this regard and can easily be solved by angling a fan in that general direction. I've found the Antec SpotCool to be helpful here as well.

I'm pretty sure you'll be happy once all is said and done. It's amazing once you power up the machine for the first time, and especially when you play some games. Silence and power can go together!
