Help me get past 250mhz FSB AMD 5200+

Thread Starter
As you can see from the Pic below im stuck at 250 FSB no matter what I try I cant go higher the voltage... I moved back down on purpose cause its stable that low, iv tried bumping it to 1.45 still no boot with higher FSB I even tried lowering the HTx to 4 instead of 5 still nothing, as well as the CPUx to 11 and 10 they all only boot when FSB is at 250 or lower any help or info tips anything to help I would appreciate it thanks.

You, sir, may be at a wall.

I had a similar problem with my build, and I couldn't do anything to solve it.

Can you increase your NB voltage as this may help to get a little higher?

look into a bios update for that motherboard....

ive herd that there may be a "hacked" bios that makes it easier for you to get the fsb higher...

i ran a custom bios that was far from official, and it let me oc my opty 165 to around 3.2 gigs... i had it on water and it was still waaaaaaay hot... the SB may fry to... if you run it to hot...

EDIT: i had a DR expert....

Ok, after messing around in my BIOS some more, I saw that my RAM was underclocked way too much it was set to 200MHz so I boosted it to 333MHz and I was able to get my FSB to 270... I then bumped RAM to 400MHz and tried to get to 300 FSB but I couldnt get it. I have tried bumping the vcore to 1.4 and 1.45 but it didnt help, I even lowered my cpu multiplier to x11 as you can see in the Pic below and I bumped my HT multiplier to x4 instead of x5 but it wont go past 270 now. Again.. any tips or suggestions you can give me would be awsome thanks.

drop that HT(LDT) multiplier to x4 or x3...you want to keep it around 1000Mhz

perhaps you've reached the limit of your CPU? kissing 3 GHz is a good OC!

you definitely want to lower that HT - you want to keep it as close to 1000mhz as possible.

It is entirely possible you have hit the limit of your chip, and for AMD thats quite a high limit

are you not happy? your probably REALLY close to the limit of that CPU - 90nm CPU's don't like going over 3.1 GHz, and most will barely kiss 3 GHz
