do CRT's run hotter then LCD?

do CRT monitors give off more heat than on LCD? cuz today i just noticed how much heat this monitor gives off... the bloody thing is heating my room as we speak ><

so would LCD monitors run cooler then CRT? if so, how much cooler?

Yes, CRTs run hotter than LCD.

CRTs actually have a heater in them cause they have to be hot to work right...so ya theyre hotter.

Definitely... LCD power consumption is around 30-50w while CRT use around 150w (depending on size of course.) More power usage means more heat.

CRT's create MUCH more heat the LCD's do, my old 19" Dell CRT was practically a space heater, it was horrible. So happy to have my LCD now..
