PLS HELP!! DS3 cold boot problems then black screen!

Well I have the Gigabyte DS3 board (rev 3.3) and a Pentium D 805. its rock solid stable at 4.0Ghz in windows on prime, 3dmark, everything. However, upon resetting, I got the BootBlock screen and it kept reading the bios from the hd, and resetting non stop... so then i unplugged the power, took out the cmos batt, and jumped the clr_cmos...good! the bios came back up. so i input all my settings, and o/c back to 4.0ghz and then the system reset and i got a black screen. ive tried taking out the cmos batt and clr_cmos...but no luck... i have replaced the board twice already for the same issue, but im sure its not the board, please help!!!

Settings:

PCI-E: 100
RAM: 3.0 multiplier
FSB: 200
Vcore: 1.6
RAM 5-5-5-18
stock board voltages

so can you get into the bios or windows??
what version of the bios are you using?
have you another cpu or another machine you can try the board in?

I feel your pain.

The Rev1 and 2 of that board did the same thing. I rma'd the first one and got a refund for the second one. I've been running my backup motherboard for 6 months.

In my opinion you should take this one step further and sell your cpu and get a C2D. You may be in for more head banging if you don't.

hah, yea this is a rig i built last year... but my Asus P5WD2 board blew and i needed a replacement that offered good ocing, unfortunately i chose the wrong board

but yeah im not upgrading anytime soon, ill keep this rig a while, even though some of the parts are dated

I see you have changed your Sig already to the board you ordered. It didn't take you long to make that decision. I understand how frustrating it is. But, if you keep running that 805 at 1.6v (24x7) when you get the new board, you may be replacing the cpu and the motherboard.
