Semi-new Build, Antec 900/ASUS A8N-SLI/7600GT/Opty165

So yea, I grabbed some parts from my old s939 machines - got an FSP 600w from my gf, got an antec 900, got an eVGA 7600GT for 100$, used the corsair TCCDs Ive always had, gathered the 6 SATA drives I have laying around, and used the Scythe Mine revB I just got from shifty as well as the Creative Audigy from another member here at OCN.

here are the beginning stages:

nothing but the mobo/cpu/ram/fans in place (I opted for the 2 front 120mm fans to be in the upper 6 trays, with my windows OS drives (2 x 1600YD WD SATA) in the upper-most trays, then 2 more WD 2500KS drives in the middle portion - but then I had to gank out the 2 250GB drives (one for external backups and one for a folding rig in dire need of a working drive XD) -- so just 2 HDDs for now, in time we shall see what I can cook up.

hello scythe mine, looking pretty there

Got all the data cables in here, now all I need is to put in the PSU and gfx card then wire it all up proper (or as proper as you can with this case)

And here is the best I could come up with in under 2 hours for wiring it all up

the side panel covers up most of the ugly, thankfully.

And it was about 10pm mountain standard when I finished, so I took a night shot

I love it, not too bright - the addition of the chipset cooler (evercool v-something) was excellent, looked even better on the ASUS as it did on the DFI (which is now a folder, running a venice - oced to 2.6 - 3ghz to come when I get a pump and an apogee (GT?)

I flashed this A8N-SLI Deluxe's BIOS to the 1302 Premium BIOS since it pwnz the Deluxe BIOS options (and the beta BIOS for the deluce caused my guild wars to crash consistently, how annoying)

I haven't tweaked the RAM or the CPU as of right now - I'm still feeling out since Ive had MAJOR problems this summer with PSU meltdown and overclocks just not working due to the high ambients (nearly 27C as Im typing now)

I should reseat the scythe again - Im getting 32/39 idles on the opteron - but surprisingly 41/48 full load temps ... I will wait for the as5 to cure just to be sure.

The new 7600GT is cool - its much easier (and quieter) to work with than the dual 6600GTs, and I only noticed a bit of a drop in performance (at high resolutions) but that is mostly due to my dual 6600s being overclocked. I have only lightly overclocked the 7600GT - but much to my dismay it will never see voltmods, as Im going to step up to an 8600GTS or 8800GTS here sometime this summer.

rest assured, Ill watercool and voltmod the living jesus out of my 8 series card

I know this build is only halfassed, and the pics are not the highest qual since they were taken with a Blackjack, but be patient with me, I'll get some baseline numbers up here after I get all drivers slated (dual core optimizer, tweaked XG drivers for the 7600GT, and maybe bump up the A/C this weekend for optimum results)

Nice job; the ram LEDs look nice. Is there any chance of better pics?
