PS3 - VGA cable ? - Page 2

I know my 360 can be set to 13??x768 it just upscales 720p to make it fit. I would think the PS3 could do the same in order to accommodate all the different resolutions that you find in HDTV ( oh and even if it doesn't 480p is so much crisper than 480i ) so running on the monitor even @ low res will own a sdtv

HDMI-DVI-DVI-VGA-VGA monitor.

However the VGA plug on the end of my monitor is male...wait im confusing myself lol.

Also my other question is a 15'' monitor that can only go to 1024x768 CANT DO 720P can it ? , However will it still be an improvement over a TV ?

Cheers
dunno if ne1 has answered your last Q properly but since 720p is 1280x720 i'd say a 1024x768 monitor would be incapable of displaying that res.

Also about using all of those adapters.... The connectors might all work together right but HDMI and DVI are digital wheras VGA is analog. I've always thought the DVI-VGA adapters used the graphics card's capability to re/decode to/from analog. dunno tho, maybe teh adapters have chips in them which decode it to analog when signal and power is applied :/

Did the PS3 come with component cables? If it did you can order a trans coder, www.x2vga.com makes a nice one i had one for my original Xbox and it works very well. and the nice thing about it is that you can connect any component source to it and it will make it VGA BUT, the monitor has to support 480p, 720p,1080i, 1080p
