XFX Cards banned in Germany - Page 7

wow... all of you take this so personal
It's business.

eVGA could not care less about this imo, but heck, they get publicity out of Germany's actions, so they kick it up a notch.

You all get emotional about this, comparing this to crybabies and so on.... there is no emotion involved in this. Only cash.

XFX is wrong. And they will pay. If they're unlucky, they'll pay a lot.

That's how things are. Like it or not.

Exactly, eVGA isn't "throwing a fit", they're cashing in on an opportunity. All of you (Americans, especially...) talking about trading in an eVGA card just because their european division is silly.

Are you telling me that the German court made this decision without any influence from eVGA? Am I to believe that all products sold in Germany must first pass some kind of intense scrutiny by it's trade regulators and they spotted this "poke" at Evga without any outside influence?

A more feasible scenario would be that Evga had their lawyers complain to a sympathetic ear.

Allow me to quote a portion of the article to validate my opinion:

"EVGA also asked German resellers to stop selling graphics cards that insult EVGA and promised to apply to courts of other European countries to ban graphics cards with offending images across the European Union. "

This is what rubs many of us the wrong way. Sure, "it's business" as you stated, but sometimes the manner in which a company conducts business speaks volumes about the people running the company.

I was really hoping for something more creative from eVGA. Before this incident I was a staunch eVGA supporter. Now I see them as a company that can't take a little ribbing from their competition and I find that a little embarrassing.

Now I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop. It will be interesting to see what XFX does regarding the graphic artist(s) responsible for this whole fiasco.

EVGA>XFX always.

HAHA...that is plain awesome. I mean, come-on...that is just really funny.

IMO eVGA=XFX in performance...and if eVGA is really crying over this, then it makes me a sad panda.

Well, I understand this...but like someone else stated above, they could have gone about this in a much more creative and probably more effective way.

I'm honestly surprised that people are getting all fanboy about this. When I say fanboy, I mean you are judging your purchases on factors other than the product and services sold. Seems just silly to me. I personally have no problem with EVGA doing this, but even if I didn't, I'm not going to buy an inferior product for such arbitrary reasons (Not necessarily saying that EVGA or XFX is better).
