Intel cuts prices again sorry AMD. - Page 8

I remember when I used to work in a retail store I we would sell mostly AMD machines because they wanted the fastest and the amd is the fastest at stock...as for now its hard to justify.

Are you retarded? No, seriously, are you? Stock vs stock, a C2D is on average 25% faster than an A64. The E6600 beats all of AMD's chips, top to bottom. The QX6700 dominates a dual FX-74 rig while using nearly half the power. Intel beats all of their chips - yes all of them.

Depends a bit on applications. Yes, an X2 6000+ can keep up with an E6600 in gaming performance, but do anything else, and the E6600 runs away fast (Office application, 3D rendering (about double performance), etc.)

And I don't see a problem with this price drop. Intel has good, and CHEAP technology, and the price drops are justified just from a manufacturing perspective. Core technology is on the market for a while now (close to a year when these price drops happen), and R&D probably has been earned back.

Be honest... the Quad Cores really didn't cost Intel a penny in R&D (how much does it cost to slap two core 2 duos on one core?!). But the profits were good, since they're the only ones!

AMD needs to catch up fast.

Price drops are a good thing. Its good for all of us consumers and its pressuring AMD to get its butt in gear to compete with Intel.
Very nice!

Price drops are probably part of what costs thousands of workers at Intel and AMD their jobs, too...

So would you rather pay $300 for that CPU of yours?

Higher FSB = lower multi = harder to OC.

Plenty cheaper chips with an 1333MHZ FSB
