CS:S hl2.exe :ERROR i have tryed everything

MY SYSTEM: acer (T-180) just got it like 2 months ago with vista home 32 bit has netgear router,1 geforce 7300gt, 1023mb ram, 2 80gig sata and AMD athlon 4200+ duel core




i have done the dx9c updates and tryed it with the firewall and AVG off, all i get is like 1 second with the css wall paper and the loading thing bottom right and then the black screen then something bout problems with hl2.exe (hl2.exe has stoped working a problem caused the program to stop working correctly windows will close and notify you if a solution is avaliable) (there isnt) i have tryed running it as compattibility mode for xp(sp2) on the vista pc ive added it 2 the DEP setting and still all i seep 2 get is that same error im ran out of idears i know that it should work. but how ????????? ive even tryed running it without steam ive tryed deleting the blob file so it updates ive tryed moving the files out of the bin &in the folder with hl2.exe my comp has CS:S i can get hl2 deathmatch 2 work and day of defeat to work fine mut just not counter strike sourcs so i also got counter strike 1 anthology like a few days after and all three of them games work fine but just not CS:S HEEEEELLLLLLLLPPPPPP o and last i hav also done windows updates





HELLLP ....... no 1 has the same problem it is usally the dx update but can some1 tell me the fix plzzzzzz or if you have the same problem but plzzz i would be greatfull if some1 could tell me what i have to do. if u like you can e-mail me: agntxrulzoldskoolstyle@hotmail.co.uk

Try uninstalling all of your Steam stuff and Steam itself, then reinstall steam and all of the games and see if that helps anything.

That is one long sentence... Having a hard time understanding it.

Anyway, have you tried completely uninstalling stream and the games and reinstalling?

delete the clientreg.blob file in your steam folder, then restart steam

that usually fixes eveything

done it about 4 times now still no cs:s

i think that its the fact that the ports 4 it on my router may need to be opened but im not sure if it is can some1 post the port numbers

ok i solved the problem but i am now faced with another ..... well i cant add a server to my favourits i get the same error as i did b4

and 1 more problem i can open up steam and get the freinds list but not on the game it says that steam needs 2 be open when it is help woul be nice on this 1 thanks.
