I would not get Sony.

Nice design, but overprices and expensive to repair (you'll need to take the whole thing apart just to replace something as simple as a hard drive).

Acer is ok, but a buit budget...

My vote is still Dell... nice balance between performance, price, and ease of repair.

in the end its all plastic and manily the same pieces of junk, i love my dell.i would say that for high end gaming its the way to go. but im sure alienware and others do good.

jsut a thing to note...buy the laptop you want and know what capablitlies it has...cause if you get a slow one...wou;ll be mad you cant play games...and usually laptops great pricey fast, so the good ones will cost a pretty penny.

DONT GET INTRAGRATED GRAPHICS IF YOU PLAN ON GAMING...you have been forwarned.

The cause was the Sony battery used in that Dell

After that, there was a massive recall of Sony batteries... millions of them, used in Dell, Apples and a few others.

Most reliable for me : IBM , things fallen off beds and chair and tables and been dropped more than i can remember, still works brilliantly.

my second choice for overall performance would be Sony , from which i am typin this right now, brilliant,

third choice : HP, very slick laptops with features a plenty.

For laptops I like Apple and IBM (Lenovo). The thinkpads are amazing.
But, if you're gonna be gaming...a Dell is probably a good choice for a laptop....or an Asus I guess....
