My QX6700 is running at 75c Idle :( What is wrong with it! - Page 4

Looks fine. The temps will go down in a few weeks once the cpu paste sets. (you'll probably have your Tuniq by then.) At least this way you'll learn quickly the quality of the Tuniq.

So are you going to fold with your rig? Very nice set-up.

Why so rude? Are you trying to help or what?

Don't use the rig till the tuniq comes in Did you clean the IHS and HSF with something like articlean. The original heatpad or thermal stuff may have been there..

P.S. It's 1 in the morning and I tried to help 2ce asking same question over and over..

Thread Starter
before re seating it I cleaned it with ispropil, applied the fresh AS5 and reseated it, I havent ordered the tuniq yet, I was going to save up for a water cooled setup because that is the recommended thing to do with the extreme quad cores, I was going to use the stock heatsync with the cpu at stock for a week or two. Is the heatpad a very obvious piece of material? I mean if I cleaned off the heatsync I definitaly would have noticed right....

It's off then. It's a big white thing that is like "frozen" and when you turn on the cpu with it, it melts and acts as a thermal paste.

Save, wait whatever just don't use the rig with 75C idle. I can't image what load is.

Take your heatsink off and show us a pic of the contact side so we can see the connection it is making with your cpu
If the AS5 is all squashed in nicely then your cpu sucks
