DDR500@207Mhz?

Thread Starter
Why is it that when I run my DRAM Freq @ 200, I can clock RAM (&FSB) up to 270. BUT if DRAM Freq @140, my RAM is only stable up to 207. I have turned my MULTI down, and CPU is stable to >333.

you need to read up on how to use the memory divider for your motherboard...

i have owned that board before....

im not sure what yuor trying to say here...

your ram runs at 270mhz when your fsb is at 200mhz? and when you bump the fsb to 300mhz your ram runs at 207mhz?? sounds like your having a memory divider issue for sure...

you also may want to loosen the ram timings when your ocing... and find the acctual ram spec sheet from http://www.dfi-street.com and find the recommended setting for your ram...

Is DRAM Freq actually your CPU/Memory divider? Is it 200:200? But you want to set it at 140:200? If so, 200/200*270 = 270 and 200/140*207 = 295Mhz.

What are your exact overclock settings? Are you setting your RAM divider so that is runs faster than the CPU?
Once again...

im not sure, but i think i ran my DR expert at a 5:7 divider... but that was with a 165 opty @ 2.6ghz and i only had DDR400 mem...

opty 165 @ 2.4 ghz 289 fsb and my ram ran at like 198 ish... i think, its been awhile since i've had that setup...

you want to try and keep you ram at around the rated speeds when your trying to find your CPU's max stable oc... once you have that figured out, then you can go back and start tweaking with your ram...

Yes 200:200 my ram will go to 270. When its @ 140:200 my ram turms unstable when its about 208. Ideally I want 250-DRAM:334-FSB. I set all the timmings the same, but ram stops @ 208ish..
Ideas?

Odd
Just a guess, but the RAM may not play well with that divider.
