Looking for headset.

Thread Starter
Hey,

I want to buy a good head-set, and my budget is 95$ (70 €). I play alot of CoD2 so a gamer headset would be ideal.

Which one do you guys recommend?

Cheers,
AMD-rules.

I was thinking about maybe Sennheiser PC 160 or Icemat Siberia?

For $95 you can do a ton better than Icemats or PC150s. Real audiophile headphones will sound far better than any so-called "gaming headphones".

Here is a pair of Audio Technica ATH-A500s for €69.42. Shipping might push it a bit over budget, but Audiocubes does ship worldwide, and the shipping costs are not at all unreasonable, I believe.

Those don't include a mic do they? I am really looking for a headset I can hear footsteps and stuff better in games And they need to have a decent mic for Teamspeak.

You'd need to buy a mic seperetly, but they're 10 euro at most.

These headphones will sound far better than the PC150s or the Siberias, and they won't fall apart quickly. (My old Siberias literally fell apart in just less than a month of normal use).

Remember that a decent soundcard will also significantly help with sound quality and the positional audio you're seeking.

So those ATH-A500 will overpower the Icemat Siberia's and Pc 160's? I heard something about the Steelsound H5 V2, that you could hear footsteps etc better? Or is the ATH-A500 just overpowered?

Edit: Yes I am going to buy the Creative X-fi extremegamer.

As for the Zalman clip, do you mean the Zalman ZM-MIC 1?

BTW: How about the Razer Barracuda's?

"Gaming" headphones can't compete with real audiophile headphones like the Audio-Technicas, and these particular ATs are the little brother to what is sometimes considered the very best gaming headphone, the ATH-A700.

And yes, I believe that's the Mic. And Razer barracudas I believe only work with the Razer sound card, and either way, they're 5.1 which in headphones = bad sound quality.

Ok, but that's the only place to get them? And why have I never heard of them?
